Recently I've been getting wrist ache after training :|
I'm used to using heavy chucks (450gs) then I had a bit of a break towards the autumn. Since getting back into chucking around december my right wrist has been playing up. I can't tell whether its the strength being rebuilt or if I'm getting dodgy wrists. I've been using 350g set since xmas. I've gone down to 250gs now (which seems to be ok). Still it's worrying me.
Has anyone had anything similar or be able to tell me which of the above could be causing it?

dont worry man, it is just like in guitar playing. the muscle is just being generated. but once you get 40's you have to avoid like continuous wrist movement(on the same area) when it generates pain in the top of your wrist. it might cause you muscle strain problem. but when you are young, things are still developing

I suppose so...at least I hope so, it just worries me a bit as guitar and nunchucks are my two favorite things. Thanks for the support :-)

it sucks my wrist has been killing me too, i use it for freakin everything. computer, xbox 360, piano chucks, contact juggling, masturbation. it just doesnt get a rest..

xbox 360,
I have a Wii... imagine the strain I put it to... I even had problems w/ it during my wc vid cuz of the damn Wii...
SH, I'd chill out for a while (1 week or so) if I were you and try to relax my hand... maybe this could work?

it's so hard to quit! theyre just there and I end up picking them up. I'm an addict :hide:

is it just your right, maybe its a higher power telling you to practice that left hand.

I've had similar problems in the past, in wrists, elbows and shoulders at different times. Could be repetitive stress. Best way to avoid, IMO, is to warm up with simple rotations of all three joints and stretch after working out. Weight lifting will also help as it strengthens the area. This is to avoid the problem in the first place. Once its there, I just work through it, but don't know if thats good way or bad way. Just what an addict does
Of all three, my experience is wrist is least bothersome and fastest healing.

a good exercise to build forearm and wrist stregnth.

ive had similar problems , taking a break helped me and when I got back into it it was awesome , i'd reccomend some lighter nunchaku or just taking a break completely for a bit

i had a really bad wrist problem for a few days.
so bad that i couldnt move it at all,
i just stopped doing chucks for 3 days, and iced it.
its better now, although i still get the occasional shot of pain, i jsut stop for an hour and let it rest and it gets better.
stop for a 3 days period, and ice it for 3 hours a day, 15 minutes with the pack on, 15 with it off (so 3 hours with the ice pack on your wrist total. over a 6 hour period.) if possible.
