so I found this long piece of stainless conduit pipe with the perfect dimensions for chucks so I took a pipe cutter and cut off two 10" pieces for my shafts....
But the issue is I don't know what would be a good way to connect the chain.
If any of you have a suggestion that doesn't involve bolting the chain on and exposing my tiny bantamweight wrists to the razor sharp lip inside the pipe curled in by the pipe cutter which would suck if In was doing a wristroll, please feel free to say something.
Kudos

One of the easier way is to use external chair leg tips, such as these,

Or you can try making custom swivel like this, but its very difficult to make without proper tools/machine

Another option is to buy swivel kit for nunchaku,

1. I was considering using those chair tips, maybe cut a slit in 2 of them and attach the chain that way, but it's all a matter of how I'd get the chain to stay in there and how I'd get the chair tips to stay on. I could do what I said I'd do except drill a hole through the conduit directly under the chair tips and bolt the chain in, and then everything would be OK. That is most li8kely my solution.
2. A custom swivel would be awesome, but I don't have those kinds of tools.
3. I don't like ball bearing chucks TBH. they just move way too smoothly for me. I like more of a rigid swiveling motion.

Okay so, next time I run my Wadesboro, I'm gonna get some more chain, 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and some rubber chair tips.
I was at Lowe's and they were out of the 7/8" chair tips I needed, which pissed me off.
I'm pretty much making NO progress with my metal chucks, which sucks. Bad.

just bolt it then cut the bolts on both sides near the shaft take a hammer and give a few good wacks on both sides of the cutted bolts then take a grinder and flatten em out you can also grind away the sharp edges of the shafts ;) simple but effective

Hmm I guess the best way to secure the chain depends on if you want some swivel action or not. If you're going low tech, no swivel, I'd just go with Steph's guide and saw down a nail, drill a holes the size of the nail into the stick, then stick the nail through the hole, through the chain loop, then tape the hope where you stuck the nail in so there's no way it can fly out during spinning.

If you do want swivels, Lowes sells some swivels like these, and you could literally just stick a nail through them to secure them:

Another option is to buy swivel kit for nunchaku,
seems hard to find, even with those keywords
best I can find is this (which I guess you could secure with a pin, and it would fit pretty snuggly in wooden sticks, less so in PVC.)
reckon it would do the trick? I'm a little keen to try it...
