Title: Two pairs of metal
Post by: Misterpink1986 on January 28, 2013, 09:17:06 PM
Here are my selfmade metal chucks. I could need some tips for both pairs.

The black one is made with Stephs DIY guide

I used wine corks for both ends, but I'd like an alternative for the chain end. Do you have any ideas what I could use?

The other pair are my homemade t-swivels
I'm not sure, I think the screw I used is to long or to thin, or maybe both. Any advices from experienced t-swivlers ?

Thanks in advance

For your 1st pair you could try a rubber stop used normally to go over chair legs to stop marking a floor. They come in all different shapes and  sizes. You could try to find some that are maybe slightly too small and hammer them over the chuck assuring a secure fit without having to use glue.

For example... http://images.cougarpartscatalog.com/dc/1000772/1000772_(3)-1028.jpg (http://images.cougarpartscatalog.com/dc/1000772/1000772_(3)-1028.jpg)

Cut a hole for the chain.

Nice idea, I'm afraid the cork won't last very long :D

I'm gonna try it, thanks

on the black nunchaku chain seem rusty, old and heavy.
for the  t-swivels; chain diameters are toll and thick. use more thinner chain.Try ones wit dog chain. Really

It is, I found it in a tool chamber in our garden :D
But I bought a new chain meanwhile, it works much better and my hands don't get dirty any more  :greendude:

Magic  :nerd:

Nah, with a saw, a hammer and a file  :greendude:

I will  make a DIY when I find the time, but I have to try something out first. There are new ideas for improvements since I used some real t-swivels  :chuck:
