I've been planning on buying swords, chux etc from this site because they have some nice stuff....but can I trust them?
It says that I have to pay for the stuff to get shipped to me. How do I know if they wont take my money? :-)
Maybe you guys know something about it.

Thank you for the warning. I'm glad someone posted, I have been waiting for long. Thanks again.

I've received a free set of nunchaku from there as part of a promotion. It's a genuine site, not a scam. However, it really is mainly a novelty shop, not a serious weapons shop. For that reason, whatever they sell is not up to quality for actual use. At the time I got their nunchaku, I was very happy with them because they were the best set I have. They lasted me a bit before the joint came off terribly.
I got these: http://www.kingofswords.com/Nunchuck/10-Wooden-Nunchucks-wMetal-Chain.html
I must say, they were good for practicing while they lasted and still a decent deal at $3.
I would, however, recommend that you go to a serious martial arts company like Century.

Could you elaborate a bit on exactly how and where they broke? Do you think they could be modified in some way by the buyer after purchase in order to stand up better? Thanks in advance for any more information.

Well, as you can see from the picture, they use U-shaped swivels. Generally u-swivels are highly sought after since they have a smoother rotation, but these are instead low quality connections. The U-shaped bit has a hole in it through which it is attached to the stick by a screw. Once that screw came out, the stick obviously went flying off into oblivion.

Well they have paypal enabled, which is usually a good sign as you can use the paypal dispute process if there is a problem with them, and they never get to see any of your bank/card details.

OK? I'm not trying to argue with you (please do not take it that way, I am just trying to understand) but wouldn't the u-swivel be attached to the chuck with a screw in the case of any u-swivel/wooden chucks?

The problem is that since they were poorly manufactured, the screw could easily slip through the hole. Besides that, the parts are pretty weak and malleable.

Ok, Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Please don't slate a company if you haven't actually had any experience dealing with them, that's just guessing and not helpful to anyone.

Don't get too excited. I reckon they're not accurate representations of the U-swivels that everyone wants. It seems that they use them because they're too cheap to use ball-bearings, not because they're smoother.

Thanks for the heads up WI, I was going to ask you about that
