Title: Double Chucks
Post by: LifeIsLoud on April 06, 2006, 05:47:37 PM
Finally got into Bristol and bought another two pairs of chucks! They're 12" octagon wood with cord and so far I think that I prefer cord to chain.... Seeing as I bought two of the same pair I was going to try some double chuck patterns. Does anyone know any basic pattern to get me started?

figure 8 cross overs are a good place to start on double nunchaku

Ok then! Thanks! I've practised this weekend and think I've got to grips with the fig 8 crossover...where can I now go from there?

Try alternating armpit catches

Catch under-arm in front

Then from behind

Bounce between the two, then get one arm out of synch so one's in front and the other's behind - good first step for getting your arms doing different things.

When you've got that down, try and get one bouncing off your arm, while the other's bouncing off your waist, and alternate them.

Try and add all the body bounces you know in, one by one, so you learn the timing and which moves conflict with each other, etc.

Hiya,

I'd just like to say if you haven't already checked them out, the 5 "American Style" nunchaku vids move onto double chuck technique by vid 2,  you can find them on p2p.  definately worth the 3gig download.  Good luck mate

Ok,  this is NOTHING compared to all the fancy spins, flips and freestyle tricks on this forum.  What it IS, is my first ever vid, showing basic double nunchaku techniques.

I've shown synchronous figure 8 strikes, both normal and inverted.  then asynchronous diagonal and horizontal cross strikes.  The last thing I show is asynchronous figure 8 strikes.

If this is too basic, i can do one with some combo's and stuff.

chekkit...

p.s.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, It is a video made to request so I thought I'd post it under that request aiight.  Also, Don't cuss my lame style,  I'm just sharing what I know, not trying to show off :)

laters :)

Finally i saw it good production if i may make a suggestion and i do this myself all the time i tend to bob my head into my techniques, it looks better when you keep your head still and let your arms do all the work :-)

PS  I love pugs :-)

thanks, I'll try not to.  I'm trying to learn some spins and rolls at the mo.  The dog is ours, and I think he went to take a crap in a bush :P

So I was carefully studying the chucking and then this Jack Russell ambles into frame,
vanishes down some hole, and then you've lost me: my eyes are locked on where
the mutt vanished. For all I know you could have performed the best trick ever after that
point! That'll teach you sibby: never work with kids and animals buddy!

PS: I've watched the vid three times now and I'm STILL waiting for the mutt to come
back outta the hole!  :greendude:

That's some dog Ron. Not only could he be a magician's assistant,
he also does a neat line in impressions: presumably that's him doing
an impression of me staring goggly eyed at that rabbit hole
he vanished down.

Savatage, Your more than welcome mate,  just glad someone foud it cool.

LifeIsLoud,  If you met the dog, I'm SURE you'd change your mind.  He's a bit of a handful (goes mental a lot) and I get funny looks from everyone when I walk him.
