What you need:
Material from DIY Store:
- Alupipe
- chrome adhesive foil
- lawnmower starter cord (with core)
- dowels (you need only the ring with about 3 mm of it)
- covering caps for pipes (for legs of chairs or tables)
- Glue

Tools:
- saw
- drilling machine
- file (smooth all sharp edges)
- hair drier (adhesive will stick better to the metal - but be careful, don't
get to close for a longer period else your adhesive gets blisters and
finally rub it with a towel as long the chuck contains some temperature)
- scalpel (cut out the holes)
- lighter (to seal the cord ends to prevent it from fringes and it will be easier to get the
cord through the holes - using pincette will make it lots easier !!)
- pincette
- time

What you get:  8-)

Traditional tying (like wooden chux) and finished it with a Reef knot:

Maybe i should have made a video tutorial  :cam: :doh

Thanks a lot guys  8-)

I've been thinking and looking about the essentials for years. The
1.0 Version was made out of an Aluminium Ski stick. The label on
the stick described that the stick contained Aluminium and Magnesium.
I hope it doesn't explode someday, when it hits the ground - LOL.

Acutally my new Version is 3.1. and if somebody of you has an better
idea like for example: "I'm still looking for a fabric-tube to cover the string
connection between the chux
.
"  then let me know. The dowels are a
workaround only. I intended to use the rubber rings they use in
cooking pot covers, but they are very hard to get - LOL

Maybe i'll exchange the white and black caps, so the better
ones (black) are on the bottom of the chux. The black ones
look way more robust, but don't look that good........

I found a chrome tube, but it is way to light.
But the funny thing about it is, that a Aluminium
tube with a smaller diameter fits almost perfectly
in it. In this case a blind rivet pliers will get its
first experience at the nunchaku operation.

Good luck when you go for your own D.I.Y.Chuk :2thumbsup:

excellent... I really like the look of these...

somehow everything looks better chromed... and the caps and hidden hardware make all the difference in making some really slick and pro looking DYI chucks.
