The weight of chucks vary, I think the the Pro Chucks that Lee Barden uses and that KVG talks about are about the weight of yours. Mine are 300g which is about what quite a lot of other chucks weigh. For wrist rolls I'd say use some fairly heavy chucks to get some more momentum on the spin

Those seem really light. Im not sure, but I believe that my chux are about 650 grams (1.4 lbs) and I think they are a pristine weight, but that is just preference. You chux will probably be hard to control and prone to fly away from you, but you can adapt to anything, my first pair was about that light, but I would never use them now. I hope that helps

  • has anybody ever tried glowsticks ?
    • uTube sux meanwhile, but take your time to check out my channel :)
Saw some homemade chux with open tubes.
Quiet dangerous, if you would hit yourself  :-o

What you need:
>tube, caps (for leg of chairs - gardenfurniture; available in a home-improvement market)
>and cord - Traditional Tying - check the other tuts, if needed.

The main idea of my "tutorial" is to protect the open tubes with a cap > have a look at the picture
The picture on the left shows, what you need and the pictures (middle & right) show what you get.

I got some Chuks, but these below are my favos now.

peace

Hate to be a nitpicker as well, but most broomsticks may be both hard and wood (hehe, I said "hard" ... and "wood"), but they are probably not true "hardwoods" such as oak, but something softer and cheaper such as pine.

Broomsticks usually make for a fairly light chuck, good for moving past padded, or for when you've had a bit to drink :)

Hi, I am currently making Glowstick Nunchakus and need some help via msn... If anyone would like to help, please add me:  The_wicked_ones01@hotmail.com

If we're both on at the same time, I'll have a few questions on how to make them perfectly!

For starting out with wristrolls heavy chux are very helpful and it should be easier to learn with them.
Later on it's up to you, personally I think light ones are more fun. I don't know the exact weight
but mine must be around 100 grams (14" alu) and I love them ^^

Does anyone know where I can order steel pipes from the internet?  I've looked in Lowe's and Home Depot and the closest thing I found was copper pipes.

Ceiling fan section should have extender poles.  They are hollow steel, used to drop a ceiling fan down from a  high ceiling.  They come in 12" length, with pre-drilled holes.  They are threaded at the end, but you can just wrap that part in electrical tape.

Be warned though: these weigh three times what heavy hardwood nunchaku weigh, and absorb none of the shock if you hit yourself.  They are great for building strength, but not for learning new tricks.

Look in the weilding section. They usually have some steel pipes there.
