Guys, I really need your help. I do chucking a lot even at work during breaktime, now my company recognized my chucking skills.
We're going to have an annual party in January 31 2013, they want me to perform live. I did not respond to their invitation yet, my "yes" will be depending on the result of my training...
If you know any 2-3 minute basic but flashy looking routine either single or double can you please post the video here...

Note: No leg tricks I'm still bad at it, and less finger rolls, hehe...

P.S. Thank you very much guys, I'll be carrying the name of the forum if ever I'll succeed..  :chuck:  :chuck:  :chuck:

I think you can try some routines from Matt Emig. Of course I'm not talking about the tricking parts and the flying kicks, just the nunchaku related moves. When he was younger he made interesting flashy routines without XMA stuff.

Take a look at this video from 1996. Matt Emig as a kid:

As you can see, there's no leg tricks or finger rolls, just lots of figure-8 at insane speed and control. Add some traditional katas and the crowd will melt at your feet.
Again, forget the flying kicks, stick to figure-8s using your best speed.

Ah, and choose a good background music! That helps.

Best of luck! You can do it!

That's awesome, man. :3

Just chuck and chuck some more, doesn't matter if you mess up because none of these people have ever chucked, so how would they know what is or isn't correct? (Does correct and Incorrect even exist in freestyle? I doubt it.)

Have you tried looking at the World Nunchaku Championship videos for inspiration?  Here's Pierre Mercier, he got first:

It goes from 1st to 6th place.

I have not a lot to add about all the answers that have been made !
You can try to put some chineeses variations eights. They are easy and impressive !

Don't be stressed. People who don't know about chucking are impress for really easy things. You juste have to put speed and movements ! Maybe if you can try to throw you nunchaku as high as you can it could be nice for them ! :)

I hope it can help you a little bit...

Good lucckkk !!! Don't forget to post a video with your demonstration ;)

i agree with you julien, Hey marcus, try to do basic movements but a pretty sight with body gestures and a little extra speed, and spin variations chinese figure eight. I always do that when I was on stage. really nervous, but once started, do not tense up, just follow the flow. and do not use movements that you think hard and at great risk to fall nunchaku. sometimes the audience does not know whether it was difficult or basic movements, so just relax.

All your replies are helpful, like I said I still did not say "yes" to my manager, but I'll have to train until the date, and hoping I can make a good routine for the event...
I guess figure 8 will solve my problem, because here in Oman no one is playing nunchaku except me (I guess) so simple moves can impress them... We'll see then, until the date if I should perform or not...
Thank you guys....  :chuck:  :chuck:  :chuck:  :chuck:  :chuck:
