  :um:  :?

i've got wooden chux and want to connect them with a paracord string.
so there are different techniques to do that .. according to youtube

whats the better way in your opinion?! ..
i've tried this one.. , it works but i am unsettled with the safety aspect of this method! (5:40)

cause this one does not work.. i cant get the node inside the chux's.. the hole is too small  :| :craze  (5:50)

here's an example of my chux right now!

Looks about right to me. I use chain chucks so I wouldn't really know.

But the most significant thing is that you have 2 sticks securely connected together.

I got one connected with 3 strings and one with 4, I had one with 2 also but I gave it to a friend of mine.

with 3 or 4 strings you gotta watch out that every string has the same length, but if it fits it feels good.
2 Strings are easier to make, and for me, personally, I found out it's the best way.

I made a chain one a few days ago, its a lot better than strings (at least for me)

I would recommend you try some different ways and find out by yourself.

Pinky is right, chucking is all about figuring stuff out on your own, then sharing, and improving.

It's a process of Learn and Refine. But like I said, the important thing is that you have 2 sticks connected together by a flexible mass of chain, rope, cloth, rings, etc.

Hell, I even have a theory you could user rubber hose....

The way I make my chucks is like this photo, with a small change.

http://webspace.webring.com/people/k1/181/Full_rope_View.jpg

I instead tie my string in the middle, between the 2 chucks rather than on the side of one of them like that.
For a knot I use this knot here: http://www.animatedknots.com/albright/index.php?Categ=fishing&LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com
I don't wrap it around so many times, I think they say 10? I do it like 3 times or so and I've never had chucks come apart on me, they've always stayed tight.

After that I just pull the string around, through the chucks, to try and get the knot near the top hole of one of the sticks, then just try to pull/push the knot through to get the knot safely inside one of the sticks. This isn't necessary, you can leave it out. I just do it on mine if I want them to look a little nicer without that knot in the middle. It's never gotten in my way when I've just left it out if you wanna skip this step.

I'm not sure if this has answered all of your questions or not, so ask me any specifics if you want to, and I'll do my best to clarify or give more information, anything else I can do to help.

Edit: Yeah, looking back on it video 2 is essentially my method. If it's too small to fit inside don't sweat it so much. You can just get a good knot and leave it out. Otherwise you'd have to drill larger holes or use different cord. Sometimes my chucks take quite a lot of pushing to get them inside, but if it's simply not going to fit then just leave it out.

thank you all ;)

i did it now like the pic i posted,.. it seems to be stable..
like u said ,.. i have to try it out!

thanks HorribleGhost .. very nice  :2thumbsup:
i haven't seen this "albright knot" before.. may i will try this next time!
at any rate, i dont want to use a conventional knot like i would tie my shoes  /.. or leave it out
best without a knot :)

so far i used a chain for years.. but i wanna do doubles from now on ..
i havent found the same type of my previos chux,..
so i bought wooden chux and changed the string in paracord ;) ..
feels pleasent, but it spins a little bit slower in my opinion..

anyway.. many thanks for your support!  :thumb:

..hey there, .. back in action!  :omg:

i tried the tying method i posted at the top (picture)
- does not work for me! :\

if the string isn't alway strained enough, the sticks will release themself sometimes.
too much space inside of the chuks.. so the string can move easily!

i tried the albridge knot - seems to be fine!
good tying method, works excellent, nothing to say..
but the knot is still to big .. i dont want to feel it while spinning! ..
take a look :

- now i tried a triple string method.. ( okinawa node )
looks good, no knot, strained and no space for string to move! :)

hopefully it will work now :P
i'll give feedback if not ;)
wrooooh! (:
