As some of you already know, I've received interesting weapons in the last months. I was supposed to make reviews about them, but I didn't.
Ironically, now that I'm injured I have time to make my reviews.
So, here's the first one: The SilverFire Nunchaku.

[box title=General Info]
  • Model: Standard
  • Sold by: SilverFire Nunchaku Store (China)
  • Price: USD $70.00 (with shipment to Chile)
[/box]

[box title=Technical Details]
  • Material: Metal (stainless steel)
  • Bars length: Need to confirm this. Looks like I did something wrong when measuring them. LOL
  • Chain length: 19 cms.
  • Weight: 400 grms.

First comments:

It was interesting to try a longer chain like this one, and after some spinning time I get used to it. Those weapons from the SilverFire are well known for their perfect finish and details, and also a particular sound they makes when used. Aesthetically speaking, this weapon looks really impressive, and creates a different visual effect compared to other chucks I've seen or tried. The point related to the sound it makes is also interesting to notice, it creates a different atmosphere when using it, and people around me noticed this as well. It's like a sound alarm saying "this is a weapon".

Performance comments:

Although I don't have a lot of experience in terms of detecting weight balance between sticks/bars, I don't feel difference between the bars of those chucks, something that I appreciate a lot since I'm still having a hard time getting used to wristrolls and that kind of stuff. That being said, I feel like I have real control over the weapon, and I can strike with confidence (nevertheless, I haven't tried at full speed yet, since I'm still getting used to this, and I don't want to end in the hospital; step by step, no need to hurry).
It feels really confortable when creating a flow of movements with this weapon. The strikes are clean and the passes/switches feels good.
I think this model is perfect for both spinning performances and combat situations. Although I hope to never be forced to use this one in real combat because it can deal really serious damage.

Conclusions:

Recommended weapon for martial artists looking for striking improvement and precision training.
Should work excellent for performances too, but is way, way more dangerous than common chucks, so I would highly recomend having martial arts foundations before trying one like this.
I'm really satisfied with this nunchaku. Totally recommended and it worths every dollar spent on it.
Also the SilverFire store works really fast. My weapon arrived at my home in Chile in 4 days more or less, and it came from China. LOL I had to wait more than the double for something bought inside my own country.
A must have in anyone's collection if interested in Chinese style chucks!  :like:

Yep, I have a pair of these and they're amazing. Extremely loud, but spin soooooo well. Something about expertly crafted chucks like these makes them spin so amazingly smooth that you just wonder how they do it.

A little comment, though: The chucks are made out of aluminum, not stainless steel.

Probably the confusion about if they are stainless steel or aluminum
is because the Nunchaku have thin walls and are hollow ?

Here is the Official Facebook page

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Silver-Fire-Nunchakus-Official/312866212057031?sk=info

and it says
"Silver Fire Nunchakus are made of pure stainless steel of perfect polishing.
Our nunchakus are high grade products in observation, with nice hand feeling, and perfect for both performance and exercises.
You have a free choice from 200g and up to 750g"

For those who say Silver Fire are aluminium... they're not. They are stainless steel all day and all night!
You can't miss that!

Obviously they are hollow! If a pipe would not be hollow, how heavy would that be ? 5 kg ? like a short bar used for bodybuilding.
Every metal nunchaku is hollow!
It's meant to practice with... not to hit tanks!
