Thanks Rel unfortunately those arnt the U's that Im looking for. There was a company back in the 70s and 80s that made superior martial arts weapons. It was called Dolan sports. Dolan invented and patented the U-swivel nunchaku, Its almost impossible to find real Dolan U swivels, he died a while back, and no one continued his work. The chuks in that picture are the newer imitation u swivels, they dont work as good as Dolans. Dolans also made other superior weapons.

Thanks to Derek I recently received a set of Dolans U-Swivel's they are unbelievable, anybody who prefers chained chuks should look into getting a set (good luck) Once you swing a pair of Dolan U's you will wonder why swivel chuks are so popular. Imagine having a set of chain chucks that the bearings wont ever break! They are amazing. Derek knew how bad Ive been wanting some, and the next thing you know Im getting a package from Los Angeles. He sent me the gift of a lifetime. Derek's the man, he knows basically everything there is to know about the history of nunchaku.

Ok after some searching in the depths of the internet for a while it seems Douglas Dolan's company was called Kemco (Kobudo Equipment Manufacturing Company). They did restart a website (http://www.kemcoinc.com) after Dolan stoppd, but that sadly has now finished too.

 :eeeh  sweeeeet!
The whole chucks themselves are heavy for me right now but I'm hangin' on
to these bad boys for when I'm good enough to use them!
Thanks for verifying for me  :respect:

something like this?
http://www.trueswords.com/nunchaku-solid-steel-assault-thick-aluminum-handles-p-3995.html

i got two of those
the sticks are small (10 inches or 25 cm), they are somewhat heavy and hurt like hell when you go wrong
but i love em, they are speedy and i fear less doing the buzzsaw with them than with usual 30cm nunchaku

I found using really heavy metal chucks are good for conditioning for fire chucks. As fire chucks tend to be a bit heavier(cause of the wick, grip tape, and fuel soaked into the wick) and once you get confident enough with hard metal chucks, fire chucking is a breeze.
