Just a suggestion. Since this is a place that focuses on martial arts, I think it'd also be a good idea to include maybe a section for discussing physical fitness. Good way to give people advice for staying in shape, or just discuss workout routines, diet, etc. I thought of this for a obvious reason. It is related, because if you're a martial artist, or want to be one, ya gotta stay in shape.

Sounds like a good idea if you can find enough threads to seed a new board.

But it's not something I can remember a huge amount of threads on.

Maybe start a couple on different aspects, see how they do?

So, just start a few threads in the Off Topic Chit Chat section and see where it goes from there pretty much?

only prob with that is you may end up getting advice from someone who doestnt really know what they are talking about, (but they may seem to).  Personally i would only  take advice from someone who PT's for a living.  As far as weaponry goes though, this is THE place to learn chux for sure! :clap

It's not rocket science. If you exercise and eat healthy, you will get fit.

I second that. Discussing your health is similar to discussing what fighting style you have or what kind of weapon you wield. Everyone here reaches a certain goal, but through different ways.

:P I'm about to go to bed, but I shall get to those fitness threads tomorrow probably.

i assumed that wrath was interested in serious health and exercise regimes seeing as he bothered to post a thread on it.  I thought id offer my advice as i often come across dudes saying 'do this many reps as this weight' etc and often its totally off the wall for what the client is looking for, and yes it can get quite complicated dependant on what the customer wants.  but your correct in the fact that if you burn more than you eat, and eat well, your quids in.

I think its a good idea.  There are a lot of different exercise programs out there, and I'd be interested in hearing how they've worked for others.  I can tell the difference between good advice and bad.

There ya go Kristov, 4 basic topics and I'm just getting started. Also in this forum, people could have the ability to post threads asking about like a problem they're having. "I have this weird rash, blah blah blah, what is it?" kind of things.

Yes, telling someone how much weight to use and how many times to use it is very random considering that everyone's body responds to exercise and weight training differently. But in context, it is usually giving a stupid answer to a stupid question as most people walk into a gym for the first time and say something like, "I want to make my butt more round" or "I want to get rid of my neck fat." A fit physique, notice I didn't say hot or sexy, is the by-product of healthy living. The world we live in puts too much emphasis on "image" and looking attractive to the opposite sex while instilling fear and jealousy in the same sex. Unfortunately, people come to the gym with that mindset and expect those results. The first exercise they should learn is that everyone's bodies are different and that there are genetic limits on how much fat one can lose and how much muscle one can build. I secretly hope that all people who are naturally skinny, hot, and strong feel like crap on the inside and that one day their looks will fade so they will have to work for it like the rest of us.

Sorry about the rant.  :thumb:

Alright, good threads Wrath  :thumb:

If two health and fitness threads go beyond 5 pages and we have around a dozen different threads related to the subject, I'll spin off a new board for them.

Kudos for the initiative Wrath.  :gogogo

QUICK NOTE FOR EVERYONE - if you have ideas like this to improve the forum, feel free to tell us about them - but even better to just try them out!

Thanks man.

By the way, everyone who wants to support my idea, keep coming up with these threads and posting like hell in the ones that I've made!
