so i was asked by theraven39 to weave hemp to use for a cord for a couple diy chux he is making. this was a fun project and i hope he gets some good use out of em. i made em as durable as i know how and i think they came out well:

this project inspired me to do something similar, although as raven is using a tension pin, i have only chux with the normal hole placement:

sorry if the pics are blurry, i have yet to be able to take pics without my hands moving lol

Nice.  Can't wait to build them.  On some badly thought out drunken logic, I ripped apart my other favorite pair earlier to re-cord them.  Unfortunately, reality didn't agree with my new idea.  Ahh well, a couple minutes of frustration tomorrow will sort things out, and in a few days, I'll have a whole new set of toys to experiment with.  Thanks Heru. :respect:

Those cords look like a "chain stitch" cord I posted here a while back! Glad to see someone's using a similar idea.

Built them a while ago, finally got to taking pictures...yeah, I'm a procrastinator.  Spent like a week and a half fixing the two laptops in the house so I could get back online.  Anyway, the sorta long awaited photos.  Yeah, surprise, they look just like every other pair I've ever built

on the rack

Fair look at the cords and pins...can't really see the finish though, it's pretty nice, trust me...

And as always, steel striking face.  These puppies are whisper quiet and serious as a heart attack.  Love 'em.  I'm a little afraid to use them too much though.  I'll be disappointed when they finally fray through.  Well, que sera...

Hmm yeah.   I suppose if I stick with the way I've been weighting the ends, I could just secure the ends of the cord underneath the washers, and when I screw them in tight, it'd hold them.  That metal lip sure bites deep when you catch yourself with them though.
