i made PVC chux, took two pieces of the pipe, and strung them together.

Drilled 4 holes in it(to across from each other almost all the way at the top of the chux, like half an ich from the top, and 2 more across half an inch down) on both sticks. and strung um together.
i thought you guys would like to know, they work GREAT! :clap

Good job, my first pair of DIY where pvc piping too. I loved them, then I started firechucking and getting used to heavier chucks and now I hate them(way to light), gave them away a long time ago.

as you experiment more, try adding some weight to those things. im sure they are pretty light, and there are a decent enough amount of moves that require the momentum of weight. just a heads up.

yeah. i dont use them a whole lot.
i have heavier set chux also.
i use them for my vids sometimes. less dropping, and faster movements.

i made a pair of doubles that worked great for about 2 months and then they shattered. maybe it was the quality of pvc, im thinkin pvc with a wooden core would be tits.

I have some very nice PVC pair, I know that sounds contrdictory, but really, I got pretty clever.

Keep checking back, im uploading some pictures soon of all my recent D.I.Y.s soon, I think some of you will be impressed.

Here's an older PVC d.i.y. post on PVC chucks that are pretty cool because they are weighted by filling the plastic pipe with sand.

The problem i ran into making PVC chucks was the large opening on the ends. They are lighter, but the cord you use is more prone to fraying quicker, and IMO, it swings rather uncomfortably. Thats just an opinion though.

As I said though, I got pretty clever with the PVC pairs i've been constructing. Hopefully, when I get home tonight I can take pics of all my DIY's ive done this past month and upload em to the forum.

I've come to the conclusion that PVC is the ideal pair for freestyle nunchaku. I made some wooden ones, and I love them, but they just dont swing as fast and light as a nice PVC pair.

Customization is wide and easy with PVC as well. Hopefully i'll have some pics tonight.

the way i stopped the fraying from occuring as quickly,
i taped the inside mouth of the pipe with colored electrical tape, so that it was rubbing on a smooth surface rather than on the piping itself.
i also found that baby oil on it helps.

I use dog chain instead of cord. It's more durable that way :thumb:
