Just wondering, after hearing so many people say they train with 16" chucks. Are they realy nice to use? I was suprised when I made some 14" that were actualy comfortable to use since they say to get them the same length as your elbow down to your hands I thought that it would be too big. But I kinda want to try 16" pairs but I was wondering do you have to have pretty long arms to use them and another question I was going to ask how long should I string them. I usualy do 2 1/2 but I was thinking about doing some 3.5-5 inch so I could have some realy long range chucks. If you have pairs you could post it in this forum if you want. I would love to see your work.

16" is a lot of wood  13" is a bit too much for me but if you've got a 14" set then make some on the cheap and give em a go.

Here's an older vid.  In the beginning, I'm using 16" fire chucks with two wicks on each end.  Especially when soaked, this baby is a monster.

In some cases, it spins more like a staff than a chuck.

My opionion,16'' is too long for me to use in freestyle.
On below shoulder work you'll be forever leaning forward to stop the chucks hitting your chest, stomach and nuts.
Plus i would be forever taking chin shots whist doing buzzsaws and fingerspin to shoulder bounces.

Buzzsaws? I've heard of them talked about around the fighting ring but I've never really inquired about what they actually are...

It's a Poi / double Nunchaku split time wheel.Totally useless in combat  situations.
A fairly easy move until you try to move it around your body in big arm circles keeping your fist an inch or so apart.
Harder still is the anti-spin buzzsaw

I don't understand what you are talking about, what are you calling a split time wheel and anti-spin buzzsaw? Is there a vid with it?
The more I see the less I know, the more I like to let it go!

I think he means holding two chucks out infront of you and doing inside-only(no outside) off time rotations with one following in back the other.

Hey did you get the chucks out monday? I checked the mail today, they'lll probably be in sometime this week if you did.
