It's just two sticks with a cord. The cord seems to be too long. How long it should be? They are very light? Maybe I should add some weight to the end of each stick?

everyone has different preferances. i myself like a 5 - 5.5 inch cord.
and i like to weight them down near the ends (pennys  )
all depends on what you like man, and what your doing with the chux.  :thumb:

My original chux are pretty heavy. I wanted a pair of light ones ;) I want to practice doubles and spinning. I will try to shorten the cord...

with chux string like that,
i use really thin string to string them up first, and then knot them over and over again until i find the right length.
and then i messure them, and restring them again with my paracord.

and i like to have a pair that are really light also, so that when i hit myself in the face practicing a new move i dont kill meself every time  :greendude:

I plan to make foamies, so I could learn new moves and  gain more speed.

Nice work! :thumb:
Usually i measure my own palm's width for the cord.
I totally agree with Imthexxx1, light chux have their benefits, like they wont hurt as much when hit, etc.
To add more weight you can glue some coins to the end of the chux, or put the sticks inside aluminum pipes (make sure the sticks fit perfectly into the pipes).

You could always drive a nail through the ends... or a nail and a washer...

Depending on your spending capabilities, or resources, you could always drill out the bottom a nice size and depth, fill it and cap it off(hopefully solid materials :P )

They look nice, I would use a bit of a smaller cord ( not too small though ) but to make the chucks heavier - you have a couple of options

-You could drill a couple screws in the bottom, or some nails. You have to be careful not to split the wood however.

-You could paint the chucks (You would be surprised at how much difference in weight a pair of painted chucks and a pair of bare chucks can be)

-You could use tape or tennis racket grip to add some grips to the chucks, which also add signidicant weight.

-Or, if you looking for a much more significant weight, try making some oak chucks. The ones I made are pretty heavy.

Good Lucks, and nice first DIYs !  :thumb:

good job buddy!! i think that Qwertycoder had a great idea with the walking cane rubber feet/caps on the ends of freestyle chux.to add weight you could put coins or washers under the caps before you tape/put them on. keeps the ends from getting chipped up and less impact damage to the landing zone, upon a wild exit from your control by the chucks!! :thumb: :2thumbsup: :respect:

good work and you will like spinning something that you made yourself, once you get the tie length correct for you!!
