hey i was wondering if someone would like to buy some chucks from me, the ones here are not for sale in themselves, but i can easily make duplicates. i can make chucks in maple, ash, birch, pine and cedar. hopefully at some point i will get some oak, but i do not have that yet.
here are my latest chucks they are ash with ten inch sticks:

When submitting a photo onto the forum, just find out the image location, often given when you upload the photos the the image host, and put it insive the tags , sometimes the hosts have a thing with this there already. If not click on the little image icon just above your text box when your posting, and put the URL there.

Some nice chucks you got there dig, how did you manage to drill them without any chips? I think if i could be bothered to do mine at the right speed on a bench drill they would be better, but, i dont have time to set it all up every time i wanna drill holes.

i used a hand drill, you have to drill through one side until you are almost through and then turn it around and drill that side.

Looks like 5 minutes and some dowel DIY to me. Plus they are freakishly thick looking. =/

these chucks are actually very well balanced. if you have some prejudice against practical chucks, thats just to bad for you. also dowels don't come tapered or made of high quality ash.

I call it how I see it.

You can buy ash dowels from a variety of places. You got me on the tapered part though. Might I suggest you thin the chuck down to a more manageable size and string(I really like that purple string) them in a fashion where there isn't a big knot on one side? It would make them look much more attractive.

hmmmm, you are right about the knot, i'm used to it though. i like thick chucks myself, since 50% of my chucking is for self defense.

Are there the same weight in the top and bottom, or not? But they look great  :clap
Can you make more chucks and photos? Post it in DIY  :thumb:
