I want 2 training uniform for when I practice karate at home everday so I don't were mine out. Our uniforms are black tops, white bottoms. I don't know if I want to buy a few white or black cheap uniform to practice in at home or 1 more expensive heavy ounce such as 12 ounce. I like the bold look of the black but you would get hotter and sweat faster but I like to calm feel of the fully white uniform and you don't sweat as bad in training but It does stain more. I just wanted to know you people that do martial arts too opinion. So feel free to comment on what you think I should purchase. Thanks for the comments.  :2thumbsup:

I personally have a heavier uniform (not sure exactly what weight) for when I'm doing training at the dojo, and a lighter suit for at home. My home one is a white top and black bottoms. The white top keeps me cool, and the black bottoms because i don't want to use white bottoms and get them dirty, as i train outside a lot.

Mostly my home training is kata and drills, so i don't have the need for a more heavyweight uniform to take the stress of contact drills. In the dojo we do a lot of heavy contact especially when Grand Master Walters comes to train us, so i do use a more heavy duty uniform (He has a background in Judo as well as karate so we get thrown around by our suits a fair bit)

For at home training, if you're not going to be being thrown about by your uniform or have much contact to it, i would suggest you get a light set, not the heavy ones. Depends on where your training and how much you're going to be hitting the floor, and how much you sweat on what color.

Hope this is of some use to you
Michael

I only have judo weight gi's[heavy and white]. i have been studying a while so when the knees start to go out i buy a new one and move the worn gi down the line-up to outdoor and home practice. these gi are $75 and up for quality[they last years].

buy a kimono for karate. But i prefer wingchun's uniform.. But if your just training inside your home, you just need pajama and swet shirt.

If your training at home just get some black bottoms. You don't need the top unless your impressing girls or competing.
