Question about firechuks !

so i am going to made my first firechuks i allready found a great toturial to see how to make them

I got some question about the way to chuk firechuks

-When you are chuking does the burning side touch you ?
-The burning end of the chuks are made of wicks right ? what is this called in french ? 
-When i have finished my chuks i have to use some burning liquid to make them burn. wich one ?

1. the wicks sometimes touch you, but normally if they only make contact for a  second it will not burn you.

2. the wicks are made of "Kevlar",(type "kevlar wick" and it should have a few online stores that sell it)
 im not sure where you can get it besides on the internet though unfortunatley.

and 3. the liquid you use is parafin, (lamp oil) which you can buy from petrol stations and hardware shops.


  whatever you do do NOT Use petrol, the fumes can choke you, and its very hot.

the liquid is called "Kerdane" in french or "petrole désaromatisé", you can buy it in every store like carrefour, cora, etc. Go to http://www.burncrewconcept.org/ for french informations about fire nunch
and you can go on www.homeofpoi.com for buying kevlar. (cheaper than in France)
