I'm not quite sure where to post this so I just posted it here.

I'm looking for some dragon pattern for my nunchaku. I mean something like this.

Could anyone like send me a picture of pattern like that?

I'm gonna make one for my nunchaku.

Thanks  :thumb:

Looks like you need something fairly simple, thin, and monochromatic. I suggest looking at tattoo designs for inspiration. Just doing a quick search on photobucket for "dragon tattoo" got me these.

Of course, you can find them in varying degrees of complexity. These are all pretty simple.

I'm not exactly an expert at painting one of those on a round stick, do anyone know any tricks?

Make a stencil. Draw or print the design on a piece of very stiff paper, and cut it out with a craft knife. Then wrap it around the chuck tightly and secure it with tape. Cover the rest of the wood and chain/cord with tape, and spraypaint the stenciled design into the wood. That's more or less how they detail cars. Then remove the stencil and tape, and coat the whole thing in varnish so the design won't rub off. Make sure beforehand that your paint is intended for the surface you're using. If you do it right, you should be able to use the same stencil several times.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, if there's a part of the design separate from the stencil, you'll need to cut it out of tape and apply it to the wood. It would probably be easier to apply the tape directly onto the wood, and then carefully cut out the design from there.

Stickers :lmfao:

What I do is have a thick piece of clear plastic (say like binder cover) and have it layered over you drawing then trace it with a really inky marker or pen. Then before it dries, wrap the drawn side around your nunchucks, wait for a few then remove

    • my utube! ahar! mateys!
if you lived next door to me id paint  it on for you! it might not be spot on but im quite handy with a paint brush you know!

sorry - that didnt exactly help now.

ALTHOUGH...

if you print a design off an ink jet printer

try transfering it onto the wood by pasting lots and lots of paint stripper on the back of the paper with the printed bit touching the wood - it will transfer the ink onto the wood but it might take about 10 minutes - you really have to soak the paper with the paint stripper.

then wait for it to dry - its only temporary mind and might come off if you try to varnish it.

sometimes that works - i have tried it with metal before!

mmmm my mate. marrrrrrrrrmiiiite.
