Hey everyone, I've never posted here before, but kept up with a few things since I registered over a year ago. heh

Anyway, I searched if anyone had ever needed to remove a link in their chain, but didn't really come up with any results. So my question is that: what is a good way to remove a link in the chain? I just got two foam nunchaku, and while they're 7 link like my wood ones the links are larger compared to the wood one. The joint is a ball bearing swivel and riveted in, so I can't just take it apart too easily.

Or, should I just try and learn to use the slightly longer chain? So far I've found it a lot more difficult to catch things without the chucks completely going aerial in mid-move. While I can still do some moves, I just have to execute them a lot faster, and that's not good for learning new things IMO.

Congrats on your first post! :thumb:

If you don't want to remove and replace the rivets, the easiest way is probably to cut a couple of the links in the center, and reattach the sticks with a quick link.

I've done that with a pair, and it works just fine.

If you wanna do it the lazy way, just use some plyers. re-attaching will look a bit bent and shoddy but it works...

Idealy you want a quick link though...

Ingenious! I did not think of a quick link. For shame on myself as well because I work at Home Depot. :doh

Congrats on your first post! :thumb:
And thanks for the congrats! I'm going to start working with my chucks more, so this hopefully won't be my last! :-D

I'm gonna have to find some quick links.  I've done it the shoddy way, just bending the links with pliers.  Its hard to get them back together nice and tidy, and the other day I ripped a very long gash in my T-shirt because the link snagged the sleeve.  At least it wasn't skin.

yeah man plyers are dangerous i tell ya... i was holding the chain and my thumb was abit close to the plyers and they slipped and clipped my thumb and took out a fat bit of flesh. My left thumb you know! you know how badly that affect my use of the left analogue stick?

quicklinks all the way... or just break all the chain off alltogether with plyers and use chord instead...
